The producers of several Nordic drama series will visit Estonia during the creative industries series Nordic Look 2013, which started today, 3 June, and which showcases the Nordic film industry and the production of popular TV series.

Guests include Tone Rønning, who is the producer of the popular Norwegian comedy Lilyhammer, and Associate Professor from the University of Copenhagen Peter Schepelern, who will explain how Danish film has conquered the world.

Film and series makers from Estonia and the Nordic countries will share their success stories and discuss cooperation at a seminar entitled 'New Beginnings – Production and Promotion of Films and Drama Series in Estonia', which will be held on Friday 7 June at the Baltic Film and Media College in Tallinn. The participants will visit possible shooting locations in Ida-Viru County on Saturday 8 June.

The seminar will take place as part of the creative industries series Nordic Look 2013, which is being held from 3-9 June, organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia and FilmEstonia.eu with the help of many partners. The organisation of Nordic Look 2013 is being supported by the Estonian Film Industry Cluster and the European Union Regional Development Fund.

"Nordic Look 2013 as a meeting place will bring together film experts and fans, take a fresh look at recent changes in the world of film in the Nordic countries, offer exciting discoveries and discussions, and (film) stories that in turn may bring about new beginnings," said Eha Vain, Cultural Adviser at the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia, explaining why the creative industries series is focusing on cooperation between the Nordic and Estonian film industries this year.

Nordic Look is taking place in Estonia for the third time. Last year the series morphed into an urban space festival and brought the problems and discussions of architecture and urban design from the confines of offices to the public via a number of events.

Nordic Look 2013 consists of two parts:
• Nordic Film Days – the Kino Sõprus and Rooftop Cinemas will show feature films and documentaries from the Nordic countries (including Palme, Sugar Man and Red Forest Hotel) from 3-9 June. The embassies of all five Nordic countries are helping to bring these movies to audiences. The films will be introduced by experts.
• Seminar and study trip to Ida-Viru County entitled 'New Beginnings – Production and Promotion of Films and Drama Series in Estonia' on 7 & 8 June.
